Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a sense of belonging within our community, as well as increase AAPI visibility and awareness throughout Westport and beyond.

Focus

We are a group committed to educating others about Asian American Pacific Islander history and experiences. Our goal is to create an environment where our children feel proud of their heritage.

Meet the Team

  • Sarin

    Sarin

    Sarin Cheung moved to Westport from New York City with her husband in 2009. She is an active member in her children’s school community, where she served as the PTA President. In addition to her work with AAPI Westport, she also serves on the Board of ABC Westport. She is a small business owner in the health and beauty industry. Prior to moving to Westport, she worked at General Electric Company in the finance and audit group and at American Express in the strategic planning division. When not working or volunteering, you can find her in her kitchen cooking up a storm. She is fluent in Chinese Mandarin and Thai.

  • Patra

    Patra

    A resident for almost 10 years, Patra Kanchanagom lives in Westport with her husband and 3 children. She is an active member of the PTA at the elementary, middle and high school levels, as well as with other local organizations, such as Westport Pride, TEAM Westport, and ABC Westport. As a former elementary educator, she is passionate about teaching and supporting children of all ages, and creating environments and communities in which everyone feels valued and heard.

  • Rosie Jon

    Rosie

    Having lived in Seoul, London and New York, Rosie Jon embraces her story and purpose for her life in Westport. Her creative talent and unique life story as a disabled, British-born Korean mother of three, artist and inspirational speaker continues to touch hearts through her public engagements and advocacy for children who have a deep desire to be seen, heard and loved.
